Hi John

Yep the world has gone mad if that was definitely the price paid. Perhaps I should held on to that loft full of old kits instead of clearing 'em out years ago!

I can only believe that the perceived value of such items is in their rarity or possibly in some form of individal nostalgia trip, certainly not in the quality of the item itself, many of those old kits were pretty ropey.

Regards

Geoff

WOW! I guess there really is a prehistoric woolly mammoth kit builder born every minute. I'd be curious to know if it was bought as an investment or for nostalgia.

This is a collector's piece that was rare even when it was new. I can assure you that whoever bought it has no intention of building it. They will probably try to resell it to somebody who is even more desperately "nostalgic" for such things.

To each their own.......

I had that kit as a kid! I spray painted it "grabber Orange"....

(kicking myself repeadtedly.)

As Mike has said, the Aurora kits are very collectible. If you think that is out of line, see what happenes what the Aurora "Franke" comes up for auction.

I used to want this stuff, but, I learned, you can never go back....
