Here are a collection of images taken from various sources of the Regiment De Dromadaires that served under Napoleon in the Egyptian campaign.

Very hard to find reference images on this regiment so if any one else has any feel free to add to this post.

I must admit that it is a unit I have always had a strange attraction to. I have been wanting to do some figures of them since I read about them in a an early 70's military modelling!

Good job!
These pics are very interesting, although some of them owe more to the artist imagination, others were unknown for me and really worth.
The pencil drawings are very inspiring and some of the pics have taken references in the french Army Museum. For example, the double saddle ( I have sculpted one of this), as the first intention was to mount two soldiers per dromedary, one facing forward and the other one backwards. It seems that the consecuences for this former soldier were quite bad and the idea was discontinued. These saddles used stirrups because the europeans soldiers were more used to them.
Good idea to put this information on PF!

Yes, great information :)

Nice note about the European saddles and stirrups.
