I just received a package from italy with Brach Model's Carro Armato M15/42 model inside along with a conversion set for the Panzerwaffe operated tanks. Below I'd like to provide some snap shots of the model and conversion contents.
The M15/42 was the last development verision of the earlier M11/39, M13/40 and M14/41 series tank, this version was heavier, better armored, with a lenghtened hull to accomodate a gasoline engine. Most of the tanks were deployed within the 132 Tank Division "Ariete" and after the collapse of the fascist regime in Italy most of these were pushed into service within units of the Panzerwaffe.
The box of the kit contains 13 bags of parts, instructions with some color side views of 3 tanks, decal sheet, a fret of PE parts, turned aluminium barrel and separately packaged aerial. The parts are clearly casted in grey color resin. The level of casting is of very high rate and make s a big immpesion of the level of maestry of the kit. The decals allow to build vehicles either from:
- Command Platoon of 2nd Company of XIX tank battalion of M type tanks, Italy 1943
- Command Platoon of 1st Company of XVI tank battalion, Sardegna 1943
- Ariete Division, Rome 1943
The conversion set consists of 3 bags, a decal sheet and instrucions with images of german used M15s and with some color side views. The conversion allows to build i.a. tank from the Pz.Abt. 202 which is featured in a series of photos in Panzerwrecks. The conversion provides hooks for additional tracks used as additional armor for the tank, german made additional stowage boxes for the turret and hull, new drive sprocket (with 4 additional teeth misallowing the tracks to slide of the drive sprocket) and a bag of indiviidual working track links.
