I am aware of the Harton line of kits, but do not have any in my gray army. The French Cuirassier bust caught my eye recently. I thought that Harton focused mainly on Native Americans? Since I don't have any of the Harton's kits, I am curious as to the detail and if possible a review of this bust in particular.

Best of Everything,

Terry Martin

Harton's standard is fairly high, the fit of parts sometimes needs a bit of work. Their strength is in the choice of subjects and the interesting poses.

I have their 90mm Zoauve and it is one of the nicest kits I have ever done. I don't remember any fit problems, but it might have been a bit tricky.

I've done several Barton kits and have had a problem with just their Mountain Man bust. All others had excellent fit. I have 2 busts, Managua and the Mongol and 2 90mm Zouave standard bearers on the shelf to be painted. If anyone would like a review of them, please let me know.

Hi Terry,
I recently bought the Huron War Captain # HMB-1. It's a combination of resin and white metal parts. The resin is that real hard gun metal gray resin that cleans up better with a sandpaper drum with a Dremel tool than with a burr attatchment, my opinion. The metal parts are OK, not as clean and detailed as the resin pieces. Everthing cast in resin is fantastic! No bubbles, clean surfaces, no gaps, and very smooth. The only real clean up on the main part are the two lumps of overflow flash at the left elbow and the trunk of the body. The major "problem" will be assembly, check out a photo of it and you might see what I mean, it's going to be a build-and-paint-at-the-same-time project that we all love so much. Still, I keep checking this line out at The Red Lancers site trying to figure out which one I want next.
Best!
