Completed Critique richard burton

hi all
i've now completed the wall plaque of Richard burton .. its about 6cm tall and around 1/5th scale . ive done this piece as i've never done a plaque before as I always do complete busts or figures tell me what you think good or bad one learns by honest criticism. as you may well know or not that Mr burton died 30 years ago next year and has one of the most iconic voices ever . anyway cheers for looking and I look forward to your reply's

I can see Burton there. Nice job. And you are right about his incompable voice.

I think the face is a bit too long. Nose and upper lip need adjustment.

yea I see what you mean will get these adjusted but the height of the head is accurate as measured a pic and geometrics seem ok . but the top lip does need pulling forward a little and the nose slimming down . trying to get good reference from the side of Richards head proved very difficult . but thanks for the comments I will get there I'm sure.

Do a Google image search with the parameters "richard burton profile" and you will find lots of side shots of his head, however most of them have him about to plant a smooch on Liz Taylor.

Burton is one of my fave actors as I saw him do Camelot in Toronto when I was young an impressionable. Where Eagles Dare was the first film my Dad ever took me too.....and then there is the incomparable narration in Zulu!

Colin yea I know what you mean I tried that and his head is always at weird angle . and yea where eagles dare is one of my all time favourite films as well as the flight of the wild geese . I thought there would of been more sculptures of this great man about but I found only a couple . one of which Elizabeth Taylor commission her self after Richards death but there are very few photos of that piece . and none from the side. I might try a new bust soon with him in eagles dare and maybe do Clint Eastwood as well. cheers for the nice comments
