Hi everybody,
here is the progress on the recent bust I am working on. The sculptor Branislav Lukacovic is my friend and did a great job on this bust. Is very suitable for those, who had a pause from the painting and are comming back to the hobby. The size is 1/10 and I have choosen that the subject will be the king Richard the Lionheart (althought it appears to be a classic templar/hospitaller bust) to give it more colours.
I am posting 4 steps of where I am now. Stil a lot of work to do, but I am happy that I manage to put a freehand lions on the tunic. After a 1 year withou finishing anything, this is on the right road now. Hope I will bring this bust ready for the Mosonmagyarovar kit show in april 2019

Thank you all my friends for your kind words, it is much appreciated.

Hi Nap, thanks again. For the red I used an Andrea acrylic red set of colours. The face is completely painted with oils, and on the rest i combine an oil over acryl method, ar only acryl on small areas. I must now add shading of the red, as it fade next to the lions and when more contrasted, also the lions will be more pop out

Looks like a nice sculpt and your painting is excellent with great results with the Acrylics and Oils, personally I don't like V Busts as there is so much more that that this bust could have had by adding the tops of the arms that would have created a suitable sized area that would take a shield where the heraldic artwork from the tunic can be repeated making the piece a real eye catcher.
