Hi Folks,
I've had this one on the bench for a while, but finally it's finished. The dog looked so delicate on its casting block that I didn't dare attempt to separate it, but simply built the block into the base.
As usual with Rob Lane's products, all the bits were perfectly cast and went together with no trouble. A brass rod was provided for the walking stick which only required a minimum of drilling to locate it into the ball in the left hand. Also no chance of accidentally snapping it during painting.
Paints were oils over enamels or acrylics, and acrylics for the hat and pants.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice Andrew, particularly good work on the coats, Manfred's and Moritz's. (y)

Many thanks for the kind comments Roger.
The irregular markings on the dog perplexed me for a while since I just wasn't able to get the right effect with a brush.
In the end I managed it with a sharpish edge of a natural sponge dipped in Sepia and wiped nearly clean before dabbing and rolling gently.

Cheers,
Andrew

Great job. As others have said, the coats look just fantastic - well done!(y)

Very nice work Andrew. Will you be at the Avon show on Sunday? I'd love to see him first hand.

Very pleased you like him Rob, and many thanks for your kind comment.
I'll be visiting the Avon show on Sunday, and I'll endeavour to remember to bring the little box containing 'one man and his dog'.

Cheers,
Andrew

Andrew,
Very nicely done and nice job on getting the dog incorporated without hint of the block.
Cheers
John

Many thanks for the kind comment John.
I cast my own small resin base blocks. It was a simple task of drilling/cutting a suitable hole and setting the dog to a suitable level.
Once man and dog matched up and gaps had been filled, a layer of pva glue topped with a very fine sand hid all the blemishes.

Cheers,
Andrew

Wow, the brindle paint work on the Moritz is brilliant and the Baron looks fantastic.
