Hello Planeteers,

My latest, a Warriors 54mm figure, entirely painted with acrylics.

Very nice indeed, Erik! I like the richness of the scarlet you’ve chosen for his tunic, & the inclusion of the Martini-Henry ammunition box which was the source of controversy during the actions at Isandlwana & Rorke’s Drift is a great touch.
Nice wooden base too.

Hi Erik

Really nice reds on this a good result on this figure

Agree about the base

Thanks you guys, really appreciated!!!

@Richie; Damn... You're right about the bayonet, will fix it! Thanks!

Cheers

Thanks guys!

@Chazman: Yes, bayonet was made from streched sprue, added on a small ring on the rifle barrel. Also made a new water bottle, because mine wasn't supplied/lost… And to be fair (;)) added a new Hornet head (with Green Stuff moustache!) with the original helmet, which I trimmed a bit in size around the rim...

Cheers

Thanks! What was your color mix for the "Red Coat"?

@Chazman;
Had a hard time doing the reds to my liking, painted it a second time over...:grumpy:
Started with Vallejo Dark Red, getting more and more Vermillion on the highlights, making several washes with this color to unifie the shadows and highlights. Adding more Lime Green to the highlights (will become a lighter red/orange...) and ending by adding Basic Flesh for the extreme highlights. Inbetween and back and forth adding a wash with pure Vermillion. Extreme shadows where made by Black Red again mixed with German Camo Black Brown.
Was satisfied with this approach!

Good luck in trying (y)

Cheers
E
