Brian my friend for the steel parts i left the metal of the figure and treated it with several films of indigo blue, burnt umber and mostly ivory black. I didnt use washes though. I dipped the flat brush into the paint as it comes from the tube and after thoroughly wiping it on the towel i applied the paint to the metal surface. Alot of waiting between each film was needed. Finally with a pin i scratched the edges and where i wanted the metal to be worn. I also used some washes of acrylics here and there.
Perhaps the atmospheric miniatures what the company pegaso ... but the painting that really gave the atmosphere of this and the above.

another stunning piece from one of my favourite painters. The horse is very realistic, and the details on it are exceptional. All the rest is very impressive too, I like when a dark atmosphere comes out of the figure, and your realy captured it with excellence. A masterpiece!
