Hello,

here are some photoes of my last project. It was my first attempt to paint such a big big miniature.
Please don't be too harsh with me!

It was painted with acrylics from the vallejo range and Printers Ink for the metal parts.

Frank, NICE job. Your'e not kidding when you say a BIG bust. Iv'e seen it before and man is it BIG. Youv'e done a nice job with the highlights and shadows on the flesh. I struggle with anything other than 12 O'clock light. You get used to painting certian thing and putting certian colors here and there that it becomes difficult to change. Not the case with you. Your yellows really set the piece off too. By the way, what colors did you use for your flesh?

Thanks,
Jim Patrick

Frank,
the chain mail on this piece is outstanding! Your metal work is also quite nice! I like a bit warmer tones in my fleshtones, but you handled this nicely. Good work.

Hello again
and many thanks for your kind words :) !
They are a great motivation for my projects in the future and I
an sure, this won't be the last big bust I will paint.
Thanks again!

To Jim Patrick:
For the fleshtones I used my common mix of 876 brown sand for the base with more and more basic skintone and 814 burnt cadmium red for the shadows. The deepest shadows were painted with 859 black red.

Best regards
Frank :)

..."don't be to harsh," Robert the Bruce would even be proud. The bust looks great! I was interested in how many hours (weeks, months,...) it took you to complete this figure?
Thanks...Jeff Hill

Hello Jeff,
it didnt took too much time to paint this bust.
I worked on it over the last 5 weeks with some breaks for other projects.
Next big bust is Tamerlan from Ft. Duq.
Maybe it will be ready in january!
Regards
Frank
