Here are some notes and images that may be of some help regarding the uniform and equipment worn by Rogers Rangers and in some cases Rogers himself. I include images of Rogers as there are aspects of your figure that have been taken from them. The cap you have given the figure is one that has been reproduced several times from most likely the same sources.

Benjamin West's 1770 painting The Death of Wolfe shows a Ranger officer thought to be Robert Rogers himself. Others believe it may represent Colonel William Howe who commanded the light infantry at Quebec. You'll notice unlike the cap for the miniatures does not include a fur roach down the center. In addition to the cap the figure has a pouch and leggings that indian bead or quill work. here have been other miniatures that have used this painting and other period work as a reference source. Personally I'm of the opinion that offices and enlisted men would have worn minimal amounts of native produced items. It appears civilian and military items like powder horn, shot pouches, and cartridges boxes to be more practical for the environment they operated in.

A series of "rebel officers" produced in mezzotint form, published in London in 1776 by Thomas Hart. One of them is suppose to be Robert Rogers. Unfortunately all of the faces in the portraits resemble each other and the uniforms and all the uniforms look alike. I would not look at these prints as an accurate reference. I have included it because the figure's cap and bandolier/strap for his hunting bag is similar. I would not be surprised if Hart used West's painting to complete his mezzotint of Rogers.

Artists Don Troiani and Gary Zaboly have also depicted similiar caps on depicts of Rogers and his rangers. Note that none have fur roaches doen the center of the cap. A number of men in Troiani's depiction wear feathers in their caps.

The folowing images show various depictions of ranger uniforms and equipment. Note the cut and fit of the uniforms. The folds and texture on the coat of the figure look like that of a loose sweater instead of a form fitting coat or jacket. The lines in the jacket look more like cordaroy instead of wool. Take special note that the leggings are form fitting and not the loose "tubes" of fabric shown on the figure. The shot pouches shown are simple items without native type embellishments.

If the figure in NOT an officer I would remove the gorget if possible. If not the gorget depicted looks more like style of gorget that would have been a trade item and not one of a military pattern. Note the gorgets are curved and not flat.

This style of gorget is from 1750-1790

Note the "staple" on the rear of the powder horn. The one end of a narrow carrying strap would be fastened to this. The last two powder horn photos show a "lobe" on the rear of the horn. The ends of a narrow carrying strap would pass through the holes.
