Another of my "Oldies" painting efforts is this companion figure to my previous I/R 76mm American Grenadier from the French & Indian War. This figure represents a member of Rogers Rangers during the same period.

This figure was released in the early 70's and has not been modified in any way outside of general cleanup. As usual, it was painted entirely with acrylics.

The base was built using Magic Sculpt with the addition of a nice resin tree casting from Armand P. Bayardi via online retailer Military Miniatures Warehouse. Assorted ground clutter from my stash completed the groundwork.

This was another fun to paint figure from one of my favorite periods. Not sure what I'll be doing next although I have a couple Phoenix Miniatures' figures sculpted by Tim Richards that look promising. Anyway, stay tuned...

Thanks for looking,
Ken

Very nicely painted and presented Ken.
These golden oldies really do show up well after all the time in the G.A.

Cheers,
Andrew

Your work created a much more believable character than Spencer Tracy in the film "Northwest Passage" (recently shown on cable tv).

Beautiful detail on the bead workings.

Another great piece, Ken, with my favorite products, too ;) I like the warmth of your skin tones. Will you take this and the other on the road to any shows?

Can't wait to see the Phoenix piece! Is it one of the Follies, or from the 54mm catalog? I use the Georgian figures to fit in with my 18th century collections.

Prost!

Thanks Brad! I'm sorry to say for age related health reasons, my wife and I don't normally travel to any shows. :( we get around but with some difficulty.

I have several Phoenix figures from the 54mm Georgian and Recency series. No follies. :) still trying to decide on which to paint.

Cheers,
Ken

Nicely done Ken. I have the old Series 77 Ranger buried away in my GGA. Whenever you do one of these "golden oldies" you make me want to go back and dig one out to paint. Keep them coming.

Your works prove that there's no such thing as an "old figure".It only takes skill and commitment and even the oldest pieces can look this good!Well done indeed.

Oda.

Ken, Nicely done! This was the first figure I painted when I got into miniatures back in 1980. It is still one of my favorite offerings of a Rogers Ranger. I still enjoy reading the Kenneth Roberts title, Northwest Passage. Think you did a smashing good job with the old I/R Kit! (y) Thanks for sharing!
