Hi All,

Believe it or not, but this is my first figure (almost) finished in 3.5 years!

It's an older Pegaso piece in 75mm, done with acrylics mostly, and some oils en enamels.
Quite a tricky piece that requires partial assembly and painting. The staff of the eagle was replaced with a metal rod for straightness and strength.

I tried a new technique on the metals; bit of a mix of TMM and NMM.

Also tried some new groundwork materials: laser-cut ferns (AK Interactive) and moss patches (Mininatur). Great stuff!

Anyway, here it is. Almost finished except for minor tweaks and embellishments.
Cheers all,
Adrian

Beautiful job that Adrian. I reckon that Mr. Popovichenko himself would be pleased with it. It's got that style about it (less weathered perhaps).

Superb, maybe you should paint more! ;)
We seem to have a similar painting style - ie a mixture of different paints. I think each one has it's own job.
I did this figure when it came out and it took me three attempts until I was happy with the face. I end to struggle with faces in helmets.
Super job, Adrian.

I've always liked this one, and you have done it great justice Adrian. With work that good I can't believe you aren't painting all the time.. First class(y)

Thanks Steve.
It’s probably the muted yellow/brownish tones I picked for this one. Loving Sergey’s work, thanks for the compliment!

Cheers

Super job, Adrian.

I struggled with the face as well. It’s just a few square mm with the cheek guards blocking brush access. Other thing is the face is looking down from under that lion pelt, so it is in the shade. I used a shadow colour as base colour and didn’t go to my normal highlight.

I used enamel black/brown to shade some hard to reach places...easier to correct edges and accidents. Oils were used for deep shades on the metals.
Whatever works...! :)

Cheers, thanks,
Adrian
