And another practice in face painting with my brand new Series 7 brushes. I've heard these were good, but now I have also experienced that myself.
This is 54mm scale and I had never thought that I would be able to do eyes with a catchlight in that scale. But with a 000 brush, optivisor, relaxed eyes and good lighting it is doable. I am a happy man.

Painting is done with acrylics and the figure itself is a beauty; A bit difficult with the face hidden in the helmet, but a real joy to paint.

Cheers,
Adrian

Adrian , nice work on the eyes and the little of the skintones you can just see under the helmet. Will follow.

Cheers Ken

Really nice Adrian. I will follow this as it is on my "to-do" list. I found the face a bit daunting as it is set so deep in the helmet but you have done wonders so far. I feel encouraged. I'm looking forward to seeing more and being inspired by your efforts.

Hi Adrian, nice choise W&N series 7, maybe the best who knows?... but very expensive.
I use Davinci series 1520, cheaper but with fine results.
The figure are from Soldiers?
By the way, GREAT START!

Thanks for commenting guys. Hope to post some progress soon, but time at the bench is limited unfortunately.

Hi Pedro, yes, it's a Soldiers figure. Great sculpt by Adriano Laruccia.
Series 7 are indeed relatively expensive, but you can still buy three 000 ones for the price of one decent 54mm figure. I should have started with them a lot earlier.

Cheers,
Adrian

Another great bit of painting Adrian. For catch lights I use a pin dipped in white oil, just do a few test fires on the thumbnail. To get the feel, and size.
Carl.

I struggle with doing the tiny catch lights in acrylics...paint dries faster than my eyes can focus on the landing spot. Will try your trick next time. Thanks for the tip Carl.
