Hi David

That is a stunning job you have done on this figure, really well painted and that shield is just so acurate:D
Whats next on the list then?

Cheers

Tommi

Hi David,
very realistic painting, no mistakes, every piece is fantastic solved. I like the hair on the arms, how did you paint this effect? my compliments to this masterpiece
R.L.

Excellent and realistic figure. I like this mini.... perfect painting of the shield and the skintone...amazing work.
Regards
Andrea

Excellent painting David. The little things you added like the arm hair really bring this figure out. Well done!!

Thanks Tommi , think the Pegaso 75mm Celt will be next.
Marc the sheild was first painted in oils and left to dry, the design was painted on in several stages using acrylics, first the the design was blocked in then shaded and highlighted and any mistakes cut back with a deep shade of red.
Robert the hair effect is not that hard to do,I use an old brush and splay out the hairs, next take some burnt umber oil paint onto the brush dab on some kitchen paper, apply to figure with a light dabbing action then gentle blend with a large soft dry brush.
Thanks Andrea,Guy,John and Vergillus for your kind comments.

All the best David

Well done

Hi David,

Well done with this figure. I agree with the above posts - but must also compliment you for that outstanding shield. Well done.

Ciao Franco

Nice one Davy.Got the photography sorted out at last.Have you stopped using your Kodak Box Brownie?
Brian

Thanks Franco really enjoyed doing the sheild.Cheers Brian photos are getting better but still some room for improvement, have you got any tips for better photos, still playing with the settings .

All the best David

Davy still think this is the best thing you took to Euro and as you know I was amazed it did'nt get at least a silver, but I would have given it a Gold.
Wonderful bit of work and the photos, while good don't do it justice.
Don

Hi David
this really does look the business. From what Don says I'm assuming you got a bronze.
I sometimes sense that there are some figures that people (judges) expect to have a particular look no matter how well painted. This is one that may well fall into that category, those versions that have done well in continental european shows often have a 'dirtied' on campaign look.
Every thing about your rendition looks great, no accounting for taste eh!
Maybe some things can be just too good.
Derek

Thanks Don for your kind words ,wish you had been a judge. The standards of painting just seem to be getting better all the time. Thanks Roberto,Tony and Derek for your kind comments.Derek are you still painting, if so how about posting something.

All the best David
