Been a while since I posted anything up on here, so without further ado, here's my take on the superb Andrea Roman figure in 90mm, representing a legionnaire from the 1st Dacian War in 101-102 A.D.

I've been working on him on & off for most of this year, and last night finally reached the point where I'm calling it done, so on the shelf he goes. I've seen very few of these painted up, which surprises me because it's a beautiful figure. I found the left arm to be a poor fit (maybe just me, I dunno) but nothing that a bit of filler couldn't fix and other than that, no major assembly headaches.

Painted in oils over acrylics (and photographed to my usual sub-standard, but you should get the idea).

… are to music. If I can manage to take some better ones, I'll post 'em up.

Zeno, the wings on the shield are from an old Andrea decal sheet (now OOP) and at this point (thanks for reminding me) I have to tip my optivisor to our very own Mark S in Australia for helping me out with those. They are a bit bright and garish straight from the sheet, so once in place I used them as a template to paint over and weather to dull them down.

Awesome job.... understated yet very effective. He has one evil glare, that's for sure:eek: Very imposing figure.

As for the pic of those two... guys?? The question is, What the Hell did we ever do to you to warrant such unbridaled cruelty? AARRGH my eyes... how they burn!!!

Terrific job, Steve...you and I both have photography challenges, but I can tell the painting is just great...
your photos simply look a tad overexposed, easily fixed;)
