Hello to you all,

I'm new on the forum, I would like to share with you my last fatigue. I know it's an old piece, it's the resin version; I also know that maybe historically not perfect...

I'll be pleased to receive hints and suggetions from you all.

Hi Lionello,

Firstly welcome to Planet Figure and thank you for sharing your pic with us.

Secondly, wow. An excellent paintjob. Lovely shading and highlighting.

Hope to see more of your work soon.

Thanks to you all, guys. As a software/firmware developer, building and painting a 90mm soldier is a great challenge! I had a figure-painting course here where I live and that changed (or enriched) my life!

Thanks again,

Great painting bug! May I ask what paint / ratio was used for the highlight on the armour? I will soon be making a roman legionnaire and want to have a good mix to highlight the armor with..

Thanks, Corey

Corey, For the armour I preferred not to use the Gun metal base, so I used a black/silver mix, for the shades I've used black (mixed to the base), and silver to lighten the base.
I'm not very satisfied of the result. What I can suggest is to experiment before to apply the color. I had good results mixing to the black/silver mixture a little of light orange to give the metal a little rusty aspect and less shining. In this case I though that a Roman Officer would never let his armour go rusty...

Nice smooth finish to the figure
Nice highlights and shadows, good skin tones.

Thanks for sharing

cheers

Thanks Janus!

Looking Great !! Bella pittura complimenti ..

Ciao

Stefano

Grazie Stefano!

Beautifully painted version, I like how you did the face.

Thanks. As usual, if possible, I always paint the face first, this helps me to imagine the figure finished...

Thanks, I was thinking for the legionnaire of a steel then wearing it down with a wash and some highlights and whatnot. My acrylic silver sucks so I guess the armor will be enamel. ( I hate going between the two! )

I've used acrylic Black and silver, I think they're better than enamel...
