Hi all,

I am suffering a bit from lack of discipline, only starting new things and not really progressing on my vBench stuff, but since (for me) this is a hobby I should be able to do what I like, shouldn't I..? So I felt like painting faces and I tackled this one in 90mm from White Models in acrylics last week.

Tried out my brand new Series 7 brushes and boy what a difference that makes. I dread painting eyes and other sharp details, but once again it is proven that with the right equipment a hard job becomes a charm!

Having done the face I think I'll shelve this one for a while now. There are some air bubble issues on the shoulder area of the armour that I must fix before progressing and I don't really feel like it. Too much tough work on the day job to do tough boring stuff at night as well.... But it was fun doing the face.

Anyway, here's some pics.

Cheers,
Adrian

This figure is the absolute bomb...a truly great sculpt. Almost tempted to buy it and have a go after years of not painting a casting....man, this is simply great.
Requires a painter's best, I would think.
Fabulouso!

Hey Phil,

Yes, a very nice figure. It's not easy to build though, because of all the separate arm/hand bits and pieces that somehow have to allign perfectly. Took me quite some time. There are some issues with accuracy of the armour (see the MedRom forum for details) and unfortunately the shield is totally incorrect: the boss should be centered, but is way off. Not too hard to fix though. The face sculpt is excellent. All in all a very nice figure that you should indeed get off the shelff soon!

Cheers,
Adrian

Thanks for commenting guys! I am glad you like it.
Sorry about my late response.

Gordy, yes the face was a bit of a challenge to reach with the brushes. Advantage is that there wasn't too much face, which reduced painting time quite a bit.

Thanks again,
Adrian

The depth between the helmet and face gives it a nice 'pop' (y)

The face looks a treat. As for series 7s, I can't get used to them. Prefer my Rosemary's at half the price. Moan over, great piece of painting though.
Carl.

Hi Carl,

What's that brand exactly? Rosemary's...? Never saw these and could give them a try. Where do you get them?
Thanks for commenting.
