I've been working on this the last couple of days. I hope to have this and the Scott Highlander finished sometime soon. Great sculpts BTW. I scratch build two of the bayonets and the slings are a soft kind of lead foil, works well for this.

Still lots to do but the basic layout is there. And as always, comments welcomed,

Looking really good and promising. I think a full mealie bag wall would detract from this but a rudimentary barricade might work.

I thought about that but I wanted to fit it all in this particular base, plus Lt. Bromhead, (the painted figure) has his left foot up at an angle and I thought having it rest on the bag would be a good effect. I found some reference on what the groundwork looked like at the battle and it had a fair amount of rocks. I still have to add some color to that as well.

Looks very well and I'm sure our resident chimp will be along shortly to give it the banana seal of approval as well (y)

I look forward to Ritchie's simian seal of approval. He's been a great help in my quest to see this project through and the 120mm version I'm working on too

Hi Tom,

Keep plugging away mate, it's taking shape nicely, Bromhead is very nicely painted. I have these three in the grey army and have wondered how to interact them. Have you tried moving Chard onto Bourne's shoulder? by bringing him forward it would suggest he is pointing out and giving orders to Bourne.

Following this one and looking forward to the 120mm project;)
cheers
Richie

Very nice so far. The groundwork is excellent. What make are the figures? I especially like the historical correctness of the sculpts. Many of the available Zulu figures tend to lean to the movie versions but these are spot on with the beards. Can't wait to see more! MC

I've been able to make some progress on this.

Still lots to do. Flesh tones, mealie bags, etc. The tunics of Chard and Borne came out darker than I wanted, (I primed them in black) but hopefully with some blending they get a bit lighter. Regardless, I'm too far into it to change them now:unsure:
