Royal Australian Army Medical Corps, 1974 bust by Alan Mackie

Hi guys,

I'd like to share the pics provided to me by my good mate and gifted sculptor Alan Mackie of his magnificent 1/4 scale bust of a Corporal from the Australian Army Medical Corps (RAAMC) circa 1974.

Alan served in the RAAMC for many years, so he certainly knows his stuff (unfortunately he hasn't got a clue about computers which is why I'm positing these pics for him ).

Alan intends to donate these busts to the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, and is the process of producing similar busts depicting members of each Battalion of the Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) which will also end up at the AWM.

Alan is making a limited run of 5 busts and is donating them free of charge to the Australian War Memorial for them to sell to collectors. Each bust will be painted to represent one of the battalionsof the Royal Australian Regiment. This is a labour of love and a very sincere and selfless way to honour the diggers, and I salute you for it mate.

More importantly, I'm sure they would salute you too.
