Hi All,
Does anyone know if there has ever been a Royal Engineers bomb disposal figure produced. Either from N.I., the Gulf war or even Bosnia. Not particularly bothered about the scale but it's got to be a decent figure/pose.
cheers
Richie

I do remember someone released a figure wearing the EOD suit some years back, can't remember scale but it was probably 1/35 scale.
Cheers
Steve

EDIT... Black dog released a couple of figures wearing EOD suits in 1/35 scale.

My reflex is that if it was a set, ICM or MiniArt might have produced it. That would be the first one I'd search for. If it's an individual figure, I don't have any suggestion.

Hope that helps in some way!

Prost!

Not sure mate, but I doubt they would be much too dissimilar in design between U.K and U.S. Possibly helmet might differ if anything.

Original figure for NI was Sid Horton for Chota Sahib in 1/32.
Probably pretty hard to find & a simple straight up & down pose.
Models produced above & in recent years were more connected to US Ops from “Hurt Locker” fame. Could be a base to convert to a Brit but usually different equipment.

I’ve got a 150mm resin figure, never produced sadly wearing Brit kit.

Presume for a special project or friend Richie.
Worth recognising RAOC ATO’s or Ammo Tech have huge responsibility for both IED & EOD operations.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Hi Mike,
I was thinking of doing a piece for my neighbour, her brother served in N.I., the Gulf, Bosnia ect. She told me he had passed away and had some difficult times with P.T.S.D.
I was going to do a surprise piece for her if I can get what I need. He served as a bomb disposal engineer.
Cheers Richie

Richie a worthwhile & poignant project mate for sure.
As a thought you don’t need to do a RE EOD Sapper in Bomb suit as imagination most of their work will have been in standard battle dress with some extra tools carried when doing their work eg. Like a mine detector.
Checking images of 33 Regiment EOD & Search has some excellent images that could help you adapt a suitable Brit figure with BD EOD badges.
Trust that helps.
