Spent the last couple of evenings painting his shield, arrow (?) holder and the skirts, added in a few different metal scales. Skirts need the leather painting before attaching to Camilla. Skirt and shield just blue tacked for the moment;

Thanks, yes enjoying painting this one, not much more to go, so hopefully have it finished by the end of October :)

I have spent the last few evenings, painting the riders torso. Chain mail was base coated in black followed by Mig's Polished metal, wash of Tamiya black panel liner, removed from the raised details with cotton buds and a highlight of Vallejo Silver, really happy with how it has turned out. Leather work painted with Vallejo leather and highlights with various light wood shades and shadows from the Leather set by AK.

Boots have now been painted, just needs a bit of weathering of the leather on the right boot, and the trousers shading and that sub piece is completed. Had to see how it was looking and i am very happy with it so far.

Also made a start on the head, decided to go with the masked version, seen a few completed examples of this model, but all with open helmets, so go different i thought.

A little progress update. Rider is complete, waiting for some slow set superglue to get his hands and lance/spear attached to the arms. All painting work on him is complete;

Cleaned up all the tassles, reins and arrows last night, so need to to get them painted very soon as not long left now to Scale Model World on the 9th Nov.

PS Why not think about entering FOTM comp ..the November thread/ link will be done later today , you can vote for your favourites in October's now

Very good paintwork.
Some questions: Do you pinn the parts or not.
How does it come that your parts fit excellent after painting? ( i assemble as much as i can, so i don't have putte over the paint in the caps)

Nap, Many thanks, really enjoying this one. managed to get his hands and lance glued last night, after quite a bit of cursing. need arms of an octopus !, just got the tassels to paint and fix to the camel, few touch ups and then mount on the base. So looking good for Telford at the mo.

Thanks Marc,

The only item completed before painting was the camel. Everything else was painted as sub assemblies, or even individual items ;
Upper Torso, Lower Torso, Head, Arms, Hands, Sword, Quivers , Shield, Side Skirts - all painted separate then brought together and glued with drops of superglue, fast setting and in the case of the hands, slow setting so i could Manoeuvre them into the best angle to join up the lance.

Some smaller parts are pinned with paper clips into cork bottle tops, larger items blu tacked to cork bottle tops. Some bits are blue tacked on a coffee stirrer and primed then painted in situ on the coffee stirrer, will post a photo later.
