Thanks for your comments. There is a lot to do still. I have to figure out how to make his hat and collar piece more interesting. He will get striped clothes. But those huge surfaces on the hat and collar are too big for a simple leather armor. I have a certain image in mind, just need to transfer it to this mini.
This is my reference: https://www.puttyandpaint.com/projects/3537
I like this piece so much ...

Such a neat tutorial & you’re teaching us a lot as you carefully progress.
That reference piece from a decade ago is such a classic too.
Great to see where you’re getting your refs & inspiration from.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello, I haven't posted an update for a long time. So here is a recent update. I haven't changed a lot until last week.

At first I tried to paint a pattern onto his head. It's always a good idea to draw some basic lines and fill in the spaces later.

After that I did some more work on the face. I used the same colors as before and just added Ivory, Ice Yellow and Olive Grey to the palette.
I tried to give a him a little creepy look.

Nice to see this back on the bench, great work on the patterned cap and the face does look creepy for sure.

Cheers Simon

I haven't done much on that bust, since other projects seemed more interesting. But when I tested the Ultra Matte Varnish I tested it on this bust too.
Here is a pic without any reflections caused by the satin finish of some layers. Also this is taken in my fotobox and with a proper camera.
