Acrylics Russian Golden Company uniform Colour

Hi Guys ,

Been a whole since I posted I know ..not been too good but things are looking up ....

I have this as a project , my question

Is the uniform colour too green, does it need darkening ?

The bust is from our friend Gaudin so he might see this ....

Currently working on the lacework on the plastron front ...looking forward to the medals ..immensley

In my version I will certainly go darker having said that in daylight and in real life they always look different

Hi Nap!

The color, called "Tsarist Green", was a very dark tone - it seems nearly black...:



Here You can see the difference between this green and black...:



I would mix a dark gray to your greentone.

Thanks for the post I am tempted to go a little darker using a dark Gray as Martin suggested...going to almost a deep black green for the shadows .......

Lacework all finished going to start on the cross belts ...how are you going to approach these Dimitry ?

Kev, the vallejo colour 70980 black green is a good match. I don't know I give you the medal ribbons now the tunic colour are you sure you don't want to let me have your Russian busts??? tongue in cheek mate if I knew how to put smilys on I would. Enjoy its a good model. I enjoyed it

Thanks for ther colour suggestion , I have darkened it a bit but think I will look at the Vallejo one ..if I can find it in a sea of dropper bottles!

Thanks for offering to take the Russian busts off me ...but it's Christmas and I wouldn't want to get you so excited .......and don't swear at me in Russian!

Have you painted this piece ....do share your finished work ..especially the medals!

Hi guys,

Well just to tease ..I have been very productive ...all the lacework is completed ..and medals ...infact the actual bust is finished ..uniform colour looks good

..I will post pics on Sunday as I am meeting my mate Jazz tommorow

Just the rifle to do , fit it and get the nameplate on so this WILL be finished before Christmas Day !

What a tease eh !
