I recently attended a lecture at the Essex Record office on the county’s plans for a possible invasion by the French during the Revolutionary/Napoleonic wars.
During the talk the lecturer flashed up the following satirical print of the Essex Yeomanry entitled the “Essex Calvelry” showing them riding cows/calves to flee the invading French………..I was inspired!
Sadly I can find my other uniform details so this print was my only source and I therefore had to use a lot educated guesses and a not little artistic licence, but I just liked the usual colour green of the coatees.
The conversion is based on an old Verlinden kit in 1/6 scale and the pistol from Tony Barton.

That is nice, poor old Yeomanry came in for a lot of lampooning in their time and any study of uniform.particularly in the earlier periods is fraught with frustration. Really love the humour in this.

Cheers Simon
