I mentioned on FB that on the way in to Bugle call the other week I did what every modeller dreads and dropped both boxes of figures
Strictly speaking the handle on one box broke pitching everything towards the floor . . . . . curse you Newton!
The first box contained no damaged figures so I quickly set up and then moved to the second box and the first figure I came to was broken so I left everything else alone and got on with the day.
Once safely home I carefully checked everything and found that only two figures were broken (not bad given I'd dropped boxes containing 21)
Nelson had been snapped at the ankles and both legs bent back with the force requiring a bit of careful restorative surgery. The second one, which was a personal favourite, had lost his head, plume and queue as well as bent the lower limbs and become detached from the base. Initially not bad I thought so after a day or two I tackled the repair. Warming the figure on a radiator meant I could bend the metal legs back without snapping them and everything else could be re-drilled and glued back in place. (The queue was nowhere to be found, but a length of wire and some duro soon had the hair looking as good as new)
Since I needed to re-touch a few things anyway I examined the paintwork carefully and decided a bit of an up-grade was required; the figure was originally painted about 18 months ago so I tweaked the contrasts and refined a few details and then repainted the road and added a little extra 'something'
Anyway hope you enjoy him and hope you never drop any of yours, but if you do hopefully this will encourage you to use it as an opportunity to bring them back to life
Cheers
Paul
