Saladin

Hi Folks

This is another piece that I had half done in the cabinet and lost interest in. I pulled it out a few days back and finally after a few days managed to get it completed.

The kit is from the Nuts Planet range and represents Saladin during the crusades between 1137 to 1193

The kit itself was flawless and a real pleasure to paint. Painted in a mixture of oils, acrylic and inks.

I am gradually working my way through unfinished projects so tomorrow will pick another to finish off.

Sorry for the poor photos, artificial lights with a camera phone does not show the paint work and highlights as I see them.

Looks super Tommi....I don't know how some of you guys can salt a piece away after it's started and then go back to it. If I did that, the piece would be lost in oblivion never to return again. I guess I have a one track mind. Oh well, to each his own.

I do not do busts and I do not have not even a single one in my collection.When this bust was released however I found myself in a ideological turmoil as this is one of the best things ever to come out of the hands of a miniature sculptor/figure company.I managed to stay away from the temptation but still any time I see it.....Especially when done in such an excellent fashion as yours Tommi,you've worked wonders on the scales,the greens but above all on those eyes.Congrats!

I have seen lots of these painted and I do really like this version ...particularly the flesh and the sword work
