I got a recent email from our new member Bart and he asked me to post a photo of his recent work until he gets acquainted with how to post images on the planet. He has painted a 90mm Pegaso Samurai Arquebusier. He has asked for all comments and critiques of his painting.

Hi guys,

I was hanging around here for quite some time and finally decided to take the step and become a member of the Planet.

Thanks a lot for all your comments guys, they do mean a lot to me.

Cheers :)
Bart

Thank you once again Guy for the help.

Jay and I were talking on the phone Bart and we hope you can take some more pics of this figure from different sides / angles. I have this figure and have saved your photo for reference. Exceptional painting.

btw......Welcome to the planet (y)

Hi Bart,

Dat is geweldig geschilderd. Geen kritiek hoor, alleen maar lofuitingen.
Zoals Guy al zei, kun je wat meer foto's nemen.
O ja, misschien zou je eens langs kunnen komen bij AMSS.

Hi all!

Hi Bart and welcome to the Planet!I think I need some more pictures, too ;).Your figure is very nicely painted and looks very realistic(as far as I can judge from the pic...).Very carefully painted and nice color choise!

Hi everybody,

thanks very much for the warm welcome. I really appreciate it. I'm very pleased to be a tiny part of this great environment.

I'm very happy with all your comments, I'm hoping to learn a bunch of new things, so keep it coming. ;)

I'll see if I can come up with some additional pictures, but I have to warn you guys, I'm still using an older camera since I haven't yet taken the step into digital photography. So as soon as I scanned them in on the computer I will post them.

Best wishes
Bart

Dear Marc, I would really like to be a member of AMSS, but for the moment it's virtually impossible due to my work. I work the craziest hours on the craziest times of day. But I hope to one day become a member of the club.

Dag Bart!

Welkom op de Planet!

Great figure: good balance of colours and contrasted with a lot of finesse! A lot of work which really paid of well!
The groundwork is well executed, but maybe it could receive a little more variation. Just some tuffs of grass which are a little higher than the rest, some small broken branches or some fallen leaves...

Congrats on a great figure, and hope you'll get better working conditions soon.
De groeten!

Marijn

Hello Marijn,

thanks a lot for your comments.

Coming from you they are greatly appreciated. Ever since I finished the figure I was happy with the figure itself, but the groundwork didn't come out like I wanted it to be. When I was creating the groundwork I was a little scared to be using too much different materials, so I kept it simple. But when it was finished and put into my showcase it looked a little too simple.

A member of my club also told me the same thing, but I was a little too faint-hearted to start all over again :(

I have to admit I'm not that good in creating scenery and groundwork and I know I have to make an effort to make it better.

So I hope my upcoming pieces will be better. But that's one of the reasons why I'm here on the planet. Too learn new things from other enthousiasts.

Thanks again Marijn and happy sculpting and painting.

Best wishes
Bart
