I've been amazed by your excellent renderings of samurai before and I am once more in awe before your talent.I love this.You are correct about one thing too,no matter what was the lenght of the haori (a haori worn for war was a jin-haori>jinbaori) it was almost certainly not worn in combat.If it was the sode (shoulderguards) were left off.You have worked wonders on this one.I can't wait to see more of your samurai.Very inspiring stuff.

I'm blown away by the level of detail you've put into this magnificent piece. It's stunningly beautiful. Unlike the St Petersburg school of painting, which also includes amazing detailed patterns on clothing but lacks any kind of pathos and warmth, you've captured the fierce, defiant and proud facial expressions of the samurai warrior in battle. It's a masterpiece.
