Does anyone have any tips on sanding Halfords primer
Hi Kevin,I always try to keep the passes light as you can always put more on very difficult to take off.....in your scenario I would probably strip off the bust and start again....Kevin
Again Like Steve I use Cellulose Thinners on white metal and Mr muscle oven cleaner on Resin but the Mr muscle might need an overnight soak and a scrup with a tooth brush .....hope this helps Keith By the way be very careful with acetone I found that it can melt Or soften the resin With prolonged exposure so I personally would not risk itCellulose thinners works well on metal Keith acetone for resin is my first choice

Halfords primer comes off with Fairey Power spray if it helps....little less harsh then Mr Muscle or cellulose thinners/acetone.Works on resin/plastic/whitemetal with zero effect on the materials.
It seems all the stuff I used to rely on has been messed about with, Nitromors being a case in point the last lot I bought was so poor it wouldn't even strip Humbrol paint....I recently started using Cillit Bang on Resin and it works well on Halfords Primer but requires a long soak of at least a week to soften the paint up and a good scrub with an old nail brush....KevinFairy Power Spray used to work but I think they've changed the formula as the last time I tried it did nothing.
