Lets try this again. Lesson learned.....never try to change the topic title while drinking Christmas cheer........result = posting was accidentially deleated.

I thought it would be interesting to hear what the members recieved from their families in the figure / reference area. Here's what Santa brought me:

Pegaso 1/5th scale Lightbringer bust
Pegaso 90mm Ivan The Terrible
Verlinden 200mm 3rd New Jersey Cavalry Fighting Butterflies bust
Book: Paul Calle, An Artist Journey
Book: The Art of John Clymer
Book: 2 different titles on Ghengis Khan

I hope you all got that special figure you have been wanting.

for the first time i did get something benassi-sgt-continental light dragoons-awi c1778-75mm,andrea s7f1-54mm,mil-art f.39-off,3rd lancers -french imperial guard,1813 and one phoenix follies - of which i know nothing about - all i know she looks like a french or english 17th century swordswoman.

Santa brought me a 54mm Frank Miniatures Union Officer, 54mm MR 66th Ill, 100mm 20th Mass figure anda boat load of Borders gift cards.

My first grandchild! OK - she was a very early Christmas present! 111806 - Alexandra (Sascha) Brooke Morton, 9 lbs 2 ozs, mother and baby thriving!

Now THAT'S a Christmas present!

All the best,
Dan

Congrats, Dan!

BTW, I didn't get any figures or related reference, but my wonderful wife did get me a satellite radio for listening to in my workshop WHILE I work on figures, so it's related.

At Christmas I never get any figures, I give away completed figures.

This year I gave away:

2 120mm Medieval Knights by Verlinden
1 90mm VI century pikeman by Border
Cpt Patrick Henry (conversion of Lt. Corey) by Michael Roberts
Roman Centurion (at the foot of the Cross) by EVD

If I can find out if they have a family coat -of-arms I'll find the appropriate knight and paint that, or something from the recievers favorite era.

It makes for an awesome gift and I don't have to fight crowds and I can start early, and its one of a kind!!

I like making them and they love recieving them. This works for me!!

God Bless
Cory

No figures ( as usual ).
But I thought this was a super nice gift:

Eagles 23 Cowboys 7

They were 'owned'!!!

Well, for me neither figures nor coal but real inspiration. My wife indulged me with a beautiful framed print of Troiani's "New Yorks Bravest". My personal favorite of all of Troiani's works. Go 11th and 69th NY !!!

For those not familiar... :)

Keith

No figures this year as I am waiting on Sergey's Indian on horseback that was an SBS in the web site. Also waiting on the new Captain Jack that was also on this site. Meanwhile I still have plenty to do. (y)
Happy New Year,
Cheers
John

Waiting on Sergey's Lakota myself John. Eagerly awaiting I should say. Let me know what you think of it.

I got your pics...............just waiting until Sunday to post them.

Hi Guys ,
Happy Christmas to all (belated) and a great new year to one and all , what did I get : various Osprey books , Debra Raymonds Chelsea pensioner bust , together with a subscription to HFM , also some new kolinsky brushes ..... but I really do think that the best gift is Dans lovely grandchild , she is a cracker , congratulations to all the family .

Question to John Norman : where did you get that revolving desk tidy , I have been after one for ages , grateful for any help ...

Regards to all Kev

Santa never brings me any figures, got an xbox 360 instead though. What a lovely man..

I rather buy my figurines myself but I've got some very interesting history books. One on the Spanish civil war (anthony Beevor) one about Ceasar crossing the Rubicon and one about Archaeology.

And my congratulations with your grandchild, Dan
That's the best gift hey?
