Hi Marijn,

great to finally see you here! Fantastic work and well deserving of a BOS! Keep up the good work! (y) (y) (y)

Calvin

Hello Marijn,

What comments. I admire all your dio's. Every dio i see, i wonder, is the next one getting better??
and yes, it is always improved.

Ga zo verder en laat ons mee genieten.

Marc

I saw many pics of this dio... and i have one word to say: amazing!
Good work! I'm waiting for next project!

Marcin

Excellent! Simply excellent!

Thanks for sharing these pictures and the details with us!

Definately a worthy BOS!

I was lucky enough to see this in the making at Trucks 'n' Tracks.
You're using enamels to paint the figures, as I recall?

cheers

Rob

saw this at Euro

Bloody lovely

One observation is it me or does the officer on top of the tank look like Prince charles?

Robin

Thanks for the nice words, guys!

Yes, the ears of the tanker took a lot of tweaking to get the likelyness of prince charles correct

The figures are completely painted in Humbroll enamels indeed. They were the first for me, because before, I painted the faces in oils and the rest in Humbrolls. The oil-painted surfaces contrasted too much with the Humbroll ones for my liking, and I have a better feel with the Humbroll colours anyway.

Best wishes,

Marijn

Outstanding Marjin, would love to read an article on the construction, especially how you did the water.

Hello Marjin this diorama is totally amazing I'm very glad to see you in the planet.....ok my friend my questions:..

What did you used to sculpt the trees and the leaves on the trees....?
Who you did the water with all this fishes under the water.?
What did you used for the leaves on the ground...?
Did you scratch the figures...?

I think that's all for now hehehe but I have so many questions for this stunning job, many thanks for your time and keep the great job...

Take care

Ernest

Great to see you here in the planet! I spoke with you once on the phone when you were at Chris Mrosko's house. I have admired your work for years (even back when I built armor  ). I saw the pictures from this and personally, I feel this is your best diorama. A "true" diorama tells a story and this one is a novel filled with lots of chapters. Great work! You did a fantastic job of bringing the "human" element into this "story". A question if you don't mind. I also want to know about the water. Along with the fish. How did you do it? Not that this is the best part of your diorama, just that I still have problems with this.

Thanks,
Jim Patrick

I'm impressed by your work. I see something on lilliput, but from that pictures I never imagine such level.
Figures are superb, the ground and the overall weathering really first-rate.
All made with humbrol enamels, weathering included ?

Great to see this here Marijn. I love all your dios equally and I too paint in only enamels but i'm still trying to achieve the same effect that you get on the figs. I'll keep tryin and maybe one day I'll get there. Dano. ;)

Marijn,

In my humble opinion, you are the best all around modeler in the planet!!!

The dio look amazing! I could see it for hours...

Please, give us some updates of your projects... glad you join the Planet.

Cheers

Abosulety Awesome. Excellent job on the figures, and the whole scene as well. Great work on the SS camo, the oakleaf and pea camo looks just like the real thing. I love the guy in the Santa cap. Truly inspirational stuff.

Hello guys!

wow, what a lot of nice words! Thanks!

To answer all of the questions: I just completed an article on this dio, which will probably be published in early 2005 in Military Modelling, Model Time, Euromodellismo, Neo Magazine and maybe later in Kit Magazine. I think it would not be nice towards the publishers to put the text on the internet before publishing, although the published articles will be still worth a lot extra because of the photographs, but sending it to individuals shouldn't be a problem. So, anyone who is interested, just send me an email: [email protected] , and I'll send you the text.

I will try to get some pics of my two latest single figures sometime soon. One is a slight conversion of the S&T Bill Horan German Tanker, while the other is the latest Latorre Crimea figure. I hope to finish that one tonight!

Jim, I would really like to meet you one day, but I doubt if we ever spoke on the telephone. I have never stayed at Chris' house, in fact I have never met him in person, or been in the USA for that matter. Are you sure he wasn't pulling your leg? Nevermind, we'll meet for real one day, and I am looking frward to it!

Thanks again for the nice words!

Marijn
