Cheers Huw.Very nice work Ralph. What did you use for the yellow? I've seen some pictures showing a bright signal yellow, other almost a light buff colour but your renditoin is spot-on I think.

For doing the yellow I wanted to do it as simple as possible.
I started with a basecoat of Tamiya flat white(sprayed).
I then used Yellow ochre oil thinned with white spirit and put this on the white as a wash.
When the thinner had nearly evaporated I added the second wash to get the depth of colour I was after.
When the thinner of this second wash had evaporated I used a large flat brush to wipe the paint off the highlights thus leaving the shade areas shaded.
I then used the same brush with most of the paint wiped off and used small amounts of Titanium white oil and brushed this on to all the highlight areas(basically a dry brushing technique).
