Hi all,

The SBF (Société Belge des Figurinistes) was the first figure club established in Belgium. After a long hiatus, they came back two weeks ago with their 17th show.

Here's a gallery of the 400+ entries  courtesy of the French "Grenade de Rubelles" club. Be patient, the page takes some time to load but is worth it! ;)

Check out another view of Fernand's impressive WWI trench vignette.

Enjoy.

Brussels is a super show!

Actually I just had my friend (from Brussels) on the phone who was telling me how great it is - nothing to envy from Folkestone (UK). They are so excited about the icons and masters joining them this coming April.

He would love to invite a few American figure painters over to Belgium for the 2009 show; the theme he has in mind would be "3-hour tour for 1000 years history." Of course, he lives a mile off the Waterloo battlefield, only one hour south of the Flanders fields and one hour north of the fields of the Battle of Ardennes.

I think it is awesome. American figure painters would get a chance to visit those places, meet some icon/masters of the art from all over Europe, take part in the concours and make new connections.
