This is the first of Marks own line of busts, and its a belter, comes packed in bubble wrap and separate click bags, which contain the 5 pieces, torso, head, rifle, pedestal mount and a badge of the the 54th, which can be glued onto a plinth, if you wanted to.

As we have come to expect from Paul the design, casting and fitting is 1st rate, the head simple clicks into the recess on his torso, the pedestal slots into a recess on the base of the torso. The rifle clicks onto the sling, via the actual buckle on the rifle, which in itself is a brilliant achievement.

Started painting body and head, need to finish off the belts and badge on the torso. Need to add some more highlights to the face, finish off the Kepi.

Nice choice of subject.
You've nailed the tones, both flesh and uniform.

Hi Steve

Your doing a real nice job on this , good unpainted pics as well , Marks certainly got a cracking start on his own line ...must admit I do like this !

Liking the fleshtones and the worn look on the uniform ...did you use pastels ?

Look forward to seeing more on this and more from Mark as well...perhaps a Napoleonic ??

...thanks for link it's a easy to get round website .......there's some excellent 1/6 head sculpts as well

Thanks for sharing

Happy benchtime

Many thanks for the kind words. Yellow ochre oil paint followed up with ochre and engine grime pastels mixed and then dusted on.
