I have added a new bust sculpted by Lucas Bezerra to the Scale Collectables range. It depicts a British Officer during the Anglo – Zulu War of 1879 wearing a not often seen dark blue patrol jacket

The bust was designed with the help of Mr Tim Rose from the Victorian Association and is based on one of their uniform studies

The kit is supplied with two helmet variants, one with a regimental plate and the other plain, giving the modeller a choice to the final look of the piece. The plate on the helmet is for the famous 24th Regiment of Foot and a larger crest is also supplied for the base of your choice

As with all Scale Collectable kits the bust is individually cleaned up so it is ready for paint virtually straight from the box

This sculpting is superb and I for one would love to see a full size figure, which at this scale is very imposing. I'm not sure about the two straps. The Sam Browne would usually be worn over the right shoulder, and if worn, the Officers's sash over the left.

Thanks for your kind comments Mike

The straps aren’t for a Sam Brown and sash but we’re designed to be a haversack and canteen strap to add a colour contrast against the blue of the jacket

Ill stick my neck out and say that I feel that the helmet is a bit squat, compared to contemporary photos....(y)

Hi Mark

Dashed it , I like that

Very nice release , got a lot of potential for conversion as well ..with careful research! ...poss to Hussar

Be a nice challenge painting the almost blue/black

Perhaps do a small series of larger crests covering the Infantry Regts as well ?

Thanks for sharing

Nap
