Hi folks;

I'm looking to try my hand at a WW I calvary conversion, and came across Scalelink figures and accessories during my search. My question is, what are these figures like? I couldn't find any photographs and I don't know anything about scalelink figures or accessories. If anyone has any experience with these, could you please share your thoughts and criticisms with me? Thanks.

Glenn

Hi Glenn

Scalelink figures were quite tidy 54mm white metal, well sculpted. WW1 was their speciality and they did some interesting items including vehicles and equipment. I remember some of the heads were particularly good. Don't know if they are still in production or if they were taken over by some other manufacturer. Worth chasing down though.

Scale Link heads were used by Bill horan in the early days of his work.

I have some head sets and the quality varies - some of mine were very poorly cast and some were good; and this probably dates back 10 years or so - guess it depends on if the moulds are still alright or have been redone

As it has been said, some of the heads were sculpted by Roger Saunders. Their figures are well sculpted, but a little stiff-posed. Don't know about the moulds condition nowadays. The castings i got around 10 years ago were fine. Anyway, they are the only source I'm aware of for many 54mm WWI weapons and equipment.

I find the photo-etch is very good. Weapons and seperate equipment good, figures ok. I don't much care for the faces. If the plan is to convert anyway, I would say this is a good line to base it upon. My two cents...-Steve
