read the other day where one stated to mix a chunk of the black sculpey with the super sculpey. I can see aready this is going to be a lot better for me to see what I am doing . Thank you and I am sorry, I do not recall who had suggested it. If anyone rembers thank them for me. Now to get started on something.

Bryon, I mix mine so the color shows tool marks that are there, makes clean up easier than working with the regular peach colored sculpey. I might think black is way too dark, dunno. Please let me know how it works for you. I would like a medium gray color for sculpting personally.~Gary

Gary: it only takes 1/3rd of a block of black FIMO/Sculpey III to the entire box of white Sculpey and you'll get a really nice grey color.

Gordy: that small amount won't really affect the properties... makes it slightly more rubbery.

Hi Folks

I've been trawling the web for Sculpey related stuff, and came across this thread in a forun:
3D Maquette

seems to cover everything! Although a wierd subject! Care; it is 4 pages long.

As Francesca says, it doesn't take much Sculpey III. This guy mixes in white as well - not sure the reason other than personal taste!

Interesting to see his technique as well.

I mixed in the ratio of 160z.(one box) super sculpey to 2oz. of black#5052 premo manufactured by sculpey. The photo is dark dark but to the eye I guess it has a grey color, maybe twice the depth of magic sculpt.

I am going to pull some referance material whilel the mex-war bust sets a little, and start something. I will keep you updated.

No differance that I can tell with just this little bit, But boy can you see what you are doing.
