Hey,

My name is James Griffin, and I'm running a 'sculpt along' event in the new year for sculptors of all ability levels.

Initial details here

All that is required is a desire to take part. I'll be giving detailed tutorials for all stages of the process from getting a concept to completing the final details, and participants will have the opportunity to join in, either with their own sculpts or by copying mine, and get feedback from me and others as we go. It's entirely free and not-for-profit, I don't make anything out of this, except maybe a few new friends, so if you fancy joining in, let me know, either by replying here, or on my site and I'll add you to the list. We kick off next month, so there is still time to gather up tools and materials you don't have if you need to. If there's enough interest here, and someone can tell me how to do it, I'll apply to add my site updates to the clever blog update posty forum thing on here, and we can converse through that.

This will work best if lots of people join in, so let me know. There are a couple of dozen people signed up from Coolminiornot.com, The Miniatures Page and Platoonbritannica.org.uk, so you'll be among friends. I am aiming for this to take you around an hour each week, so it isn't a huge drain on your doubtless precious hobby time.

Thanks, and happy sculpting!

James

The initial details are here
The first of three pre-project preparation posts are here so that you can start to gather your materials, tools and inspiration together.
finally, here is a list of the current participants - think how good your name/pseudonym would look alongside these wonderful people! ;)

I now have the third of the three 'preparation posts' published before the Sculpt along begins. You can read it here, it deals with getting your 'concept' for your project.

If you missed them, the first of the three posts is here, dealing with putties...

...and the second is here, dealing with tools and materials.

Now it's a case of relaxing, enjoying christmas and the new year and having a think about a concept. Fantastic! Those of you taking part, feel free to bounce any ideas off me (and each other obviously). Happy christmas!

James
