Bald hads always look odd

...but her face is looking fine so far. Nose looks ok as well.

The thing to remember is that painting will add to the figure.

Will post pix of the experiment on separate hair tomorrow...got side tracked on another experiment.

She looks real good......

cheers

Hair as seperate piece experiment

Hi Revliss,
Here's how I went about sculpting hair as a separate piece.

Rolled my putty flat, with a light dusting of talcum powder to reduce the stickiness of the putty.

Put glad wrap on the head, (blank 'head') to make sure it didn't stick. this may be too much, change what you want. Just an idea, is all.

I did the hair in two halves, following the part of the hair. Other ideas, rather then as a straight line, would be to do a bent "L" shape, or a y shape part, with a fringe for your lady.

put to one side, let dry.

removed the hair & plastic wrap (from a spare blank I have), gently remove the plastic wrap, seems to work ok.
While I am not happy with the 'back of the head, the front fringe does give a better 3-d feel.

Hope this has helped. Any questions, feel free to ask.

cheers

Hi Revliss!
Sometimes, I think its easier to work with non trasparent resin. Ithink it's easyer to chek the casting mistakes on the cast, that were made from non transparent resin. But! I have worked with clear resin and I used it with pigments! Just a small amount of cheepo pigment worked fine! So chek out if Your resin could be colored with pigments, or some type of paint! It will make the casting easier!
Well, I'm not the guy who have really a lot experiences with resin castin, but the pigment thing worked well for me!:)
Cheers: Zoli / georch
