Hi all.
Hope I"m not rehashing old posts. I'm sculpting some 120mm figures with the intent of casting another 50 or so for friends and perhaps for sale! I've reached a crossroads and am not sure how to continue. Picture a 120mm figure arms raised overhead: would it be better to sculpt the whole piece and do a one peice mold or sculpt the peice so that the arms, legs etc can be cast as seperate peices.
Since I'm building and painting the figure I'm not worried about creating a commercial kit, just the easiest way to reproduce it! Any suggestions for molding and casting materials would be appreciated as well!
Thanks for your help!

Mark , I think that in the position you're explaining ( if I get it right ) you won't have many problems making a one cast. But on the other hand making things easier always helps. If you can sculpt parts seperate the casting is nearly always cleaner.

Mark, resist temptation, break the figure down into pieces. Given that this is your first time doing it don't be fooled into thinking that it may be easier casting the majority of the figure in one piece. You'll also gain some valuable experience having your figure made up of 3-5 separate molds. Good luck.~Gary

I'd do it in a few pieces, you might also find this a good choice if you need a few extra pieces for conversions etc. Also, do you have a pressure pot available or any casting equipment?
