Dan Morton
A Fixture
When I do the 120mm Tommy of 1915 figure, I'd like to make the following nine separate pieces to allow for casting -
-head and hat;
-torso and thighs down to knees;
-lower right & left legs and boots;
-right & left arm;
-SMLE rifle;
-backpack; &
-haversack.
When Anders made his recently completed Ivan figure, he used vaseline to keep the parts that need to remain separate from sticking together, sculpted them to finish, let them dry and then separated them. Can I follow a similar process?
In my case, of course the rifle, head and hat, backpack and haversack will be made separately, then pinned and cut to fit. In most cases I should be able to cut the pins, cover them with a little putty and use them to make the casting waste.
Do-able? Any tips you'd care to give would be appreciated.
All the best,
Dan
