Was looking for something a bit different for the classic Tales of the North figure and here's what I came up with. Finished this one in May.

SEIGFRIED & FAFNER from Wagners 'The Ring Cycle'
Any comments of any kind welcome and I'll try to answer any questions anyone has.

A must see in the flesh,as it's truly a beauty, and as usual with Derek, there's plenty of things going on in the groundwork.

Excellent work Del! This will take a while to absorb, wonderful painting with lots to look at.(y)

For my own piece of mind! Are Siegfried and Fafner, mates?? or has Fafner just been stuffed, by Siegfried!

Well Derek, others have already spoke, ah that's written,
about the artistic beauty of this piece. And I have the same
reaction. Wow, what a creative and artistic talent you have,
Sir. Just the ground work and the dead dragon are worth
the price of admission. Wow. But I have a question regarding
the way you wrapped the dragon's body/head around the
composition, around the base. I presume you converted
the dragon figure quite a bit?
Inquiring minds want to know! :) Will there be
news at Eleven?
The Miami Jayhawk
PS. I've seen many figure modelers use a portion of a
tree/stump, et cetera in their composition and so many
times it just does not work. Too large, etc. and fights
for the attention of the viewer, over the attention the
figure should get. MY goodness, you do not have a
problem with that scenario! Whoa, Nellie. . . . .

Love it (Any others you're keeping hidden away?)
Paul

Almost certainly Paul. I don't tend to display finished work and those I keep often disappear into boxes and drawers.
Doing a Poste Militaire figure at the moment using 'old school' techniques. Will post sometime next week.

Not stuffed, snuffed!

Looks great, laddie. Where did the dragon come from?

Thanks guys. The Dragon is a combination of a toy dinosaur and a toy dragon.
The horns are simply Milliput and the spikey bits at the back of the jaw are leaves from a berberis bush in the garden.
Nothing too fancy just some surgery with a junior hacksaw and a stanley knife to give a scarred look to Fafners face.
Cheers

God, your a dark horse Derek, a master of the dark arts.
Looks bloody great and as for the base, awesome.
Regards
Bob.

'Snuff him out', is in context, the same as 'Put a cap in his ass'. Both an a 'Americanism'.

, Janne, why do you think we have 'Professor's of English'.?

Answer! = Because even we need it.:D
