Lovely and different figure. I am familiar with the peninsular war and Bailen, but this is a new one on me. Never heard of the "Africa" regiment. Can anybody out there enlighten me?

The Africa regiment was one of those who formed the 4th division of the reserve, participated actively in the fighting and then continued to confront the French invaders at the Battle of Talavera, another disaster for the Napoleonic forces.

The Comander in Chief, General Castaños, wore the Africa Regiment uniform as it was his old regiment in the War against Convention (1793).
