Hi,

your colors choice are nice and surely as in real life.

But the final rendition is too warm. Only 2 thin cold blue lines....
There is something that can turn your figure "outstanding".
Try to paint some cold color cloths between warm colors.

The secret is to put like boxes one cold, one warm, and then another cold and another warm.
I hope you understand my meaning (my poor english written....).
By putting closer cold and warm colors you emphazis the final looks of the figure.
Sometimes you look at a figure painted and you dont know why, but you really like it. Even if you can see brush marks.....
That's because of a good combinaison of cold/warm colors....

Hope it helps.....

JP

Thanks all.
JP, I understood your post quite well. Nothing wrong with your English.
That's an interesting concept I hadn't heard before. I'll have to give it a try. I'd always heard that one should go with a warm or a cool palette for the most part.
You learn something hew every day.

Thx Al to understand :)

Well I am like you, I learn every day. I read carefully figures magazines, web's posts...... but also other books for canvas (oil, pastels....).
Lots of interesting tips that we can transfer to our figure world :)

Keep your eyes open and feel free to take any tips that may make you progress (I do the same...).

Al. A really nice job on painting and a great expression and JP, Thanks for an interesting idea I will try on the next figure. Your English is fine and nice to read.
Cheers

Al,

Extremely well painted, but i go with JP. Don't get me wrong but i find it to much the same color. But you did it excellent.
I really like that weathered look of the gun. Great work.
