It's not so bad if you get to see them before you buy,but i did a round trip of 40 miles to the nearest art shop that stocks them.I 've just sent the one in the picture back to Amazon ,so there's no problem getting a refund.I'll definitely not be ordering them online again,and i'll be on the lookout for other brushes.
Da Vinci Maestro are not bad but their point is a bit too rounded for me.

Jon Page of Sphere fame will have Series 7 and Broken Toad brushes at Euro if your down for that..

We are up for the Edinburgh show at the beginning of September so your more than welcome to look through our brushes then or at Euro..

I suggest trying the Raphael 8404 brushes

They are as good as the 7 brushes but you get more hair for the money.

For example a Size 2 7 brush = Size 1 8404 brush

I cannot live without my Raphael brushes now

I am not a prolific painter, and am very much an amateur. I recently purchased a set of Broken Toad brushes and find them excellent, and better than the W&N Series 7 I had previously used. I have great difficulty painting eyes and fine detail on 54mm. Their 3/0 has made a big difference - nice tight point and a very reasonable price for the quality.

I mainly use acrylics, and I can definitely recommend the Raphael 8404s...
