Philip and Einion,

Thank you for your help.
The figurine in question is this one of the attachments.

I don't mean to question your info but I read in Osprey - British Army in Campaign 2 - Crimea that the red of the coattes turned 'Port-Wine Colour' (page 33).

Philip, I think it's like you said: Scots Guards

Roger,
Thank you for the pic.
My trouble is the badge the is on top of the 4 stripes. I looked in the web but since I don't know what it really looks like I have troble with the symbols and colors.
Thanks for the help.
Cheers,
Paulo
There's is little or no conflict between the two descriptions of the weathered jacket. If you Google <port wine color> and check images, you see some nice, grungy, purplish swatches!
No doubt about it, he's a member of the Scots Guards.
My apologies for missing out the insignia on top of the stripes. In A H Bowling's Almark Book Scottish Regiments and Uniforms 1660-1914, he shows a RSM of 1856, which, although after the uniform changes of '55 is accurate for your man, I believe: "Superimposed on the bars was the Royal Arms embroidered in full colours on a scarlet background." (p.49)
I hope that this helps.

Hi Phillip,

Thanks once more for the info.
Unfortunately I don't have that book. Any more sources?

Found this one. Is it him?

Cheers,
Paulo
