Ciao a tutti,
This is my first post in the new Planet figure (thanks Gordy!!).
II've been busy the last few days painting this bust sculpted by Romain Van Den Bogaert.
The sculpture is amazing, as the casting, is not quite like the little girl from the National Geographic but I can say that has been a joy to paint and I've applied few different new techniques.
I have updated few images here, but you can find more and at Hi-Res on my blog.
I hope you like it.
Ciao

Giovanni, the flesh tones are great, but the eye pupil is too small ....(y)

Hi Rodrigo,

Thanks so much.

Not sure what you mean, you talking about the iris or the black pupil?

Iris I think are the right size, black pupils are as the one in the famous photograph, there was lot of light in the room at the time have a look at the famous National Geographic cover from Steve Mc Curry.

Ciao

Not at all - remember - thats Afganistan - opium basket of old world = thats pin point pupils skilfully depicted :D some one - get some naloxone quickly

She does look a bit manic though - I think because iris sits in the middle of the eye and not covered by upper eyelid ( it also seems that R side iris is slightly almost imperceivably smaller than left)

very nicely done overall

Hi Dimitry,

Have a look at the real deal, she has the iris sitting in the middle of the eyes not covered by the upper lid, I've tried, to the best of my abilities, of course, to replicate the real eyes.

As for one eye been smaller than the other I can't see it in reality but I'll measure to make it sure.

Thanks so much

Giovanni

Yep, very truthfull rendition and captures the look well. I have been looking in for a long time, may be its the light reflection that messes with me.
Dont look into it too much.
Great work
