Name: Sherlock Holmes
Producer: Infamy Miniatures
Scale: 32 mm.
Material: Resin
Concept art: Martin McKenna
Sculptor: MIKH
Website: http://www.infamyminiatures.com

This twisted, evil genius version of Sherlock Holmes, sculpted in amazing detail by MIKH is on the Infamy Miniatures website to pre-order now. The first run is of 250 high quality resin casts, and each model comes with a round lipped base and limited first run card, showing the concept art and painted model (which is being finished now).

I won't collect the PayPal money until his release at the end of May/start of June, but you'll guarantee yourself one of the first run.

To tie into his release, I'm trying to build up the number of people following the Infamy facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/infamyminis

If you help me get to 150 likes on the Infamy facebook page by the time the Holmes is out, I'll randomly select someone from my 'likers' to get a free model.

Also, I update the facebook page with cool info and sneak peeks of upcoming minis, so it's worth it anyway.

I hope everyone likes the model as much as I do. Here are some big pictures of the sculpt that really show off the work MIKH has done.

Really pleased that people like him. MIKH is an amazing sculptor and a really nice guy too, so I'm thrilled he's making minis for the range.

DEL - in a few months you may well see some models from Infamy at a scale that is more to your liking. :)

Mirofsoft - Yes, he's Sherlock Holmes, but as I said in my first post, an evil Sherlock Holmes who fits into the steampunk world of Infamy.

The seeds for this model were sewn many years ago, when I read a Neil Gaiman short story called a Study in Emerald. It combines the worlds of Sherlock Holmes and Lovecraft and I loved the twists along the way. I instantly wanted to twist the fiction, explore evil Holmes in my own way and throw him into a steampunk setting.

The new technology creeping over him may appear to have stripped away all but the last vestiges of the character you know, but this sinewy, slick, hardened Holmes retains his "extraordinary delicacy of touch", brilliant mind (intact embracing the future and the investigation of evil in pursuit of supremacy) and whole load of little details to tie it into the Holmes fiction.

The back pack elements are rather surgical in appearance to tie him to his partner in crime Doctor John Watson, who is also ready to be cast in the coming months.

In some ways the only anachronism is the great-coat, but despite that I feel he retains a whole lot of Holmes.

I remember when you first displayed your Holmes figure on pF... it really was a cool concept and if you manage to cast all the tiny steampunk gizmos well, it should build into an amazing model.

Well done, I like the idea behind the whole story and can't wait to see your rendition of Dr Watson. Hope we wont have to wait long for that one as they would probably make a great pair.

Glad you like the model and the concepts behind the Infamy range Mario. Watson should actually be along pretty soon. :)

Here are some pictures of the model with paint applied by Javier Gonzalez (Arsies). I'm very happy with how he looks and there are all sorts of views of him up on CMoN:
