Hi all.

I'm gonna show you my second figure and my first bust. It's a personal tribute to one of my favourites films.: Stanley kubrick's SHINING, and It's based on the commercial poster of the film.

It's sculpted in Super Sculpey, FIMO colour white and Duro in the hair.

The scale: 1/10 .

I've just finished it, (with wooden door included). Please, wait til the final result because it will get better .hehehe

I hope u like it. ;)

P.S. Sorry for my english

Here... the basic form of the skull.

In this photo i begin to carve the eyelid and the first forms of the teeth with FIMO white colour.

Hi all .

First of all, thanks a lot to all the people who is watching this SBS, and specially to Garyjd (I'm learning a lot with ur amazing and instructional SBS), ROC, Major Goose, Dan Morton and Sambaman for all those kind words.

Yes it's a very difficult project, bcause Im just a beginner ( my wife repeat me that I'm mad, and i should begin with any other figure). But I'm just learning and i'm specially interested in achieve a good result in facial expression, more than a physical similarity with the actor. I hope u enjoy the final result.

Well, and now, the most important....the pics

The first one: adding the cheekbones,. As u can see, I've made a mark in the right eye and in the hair's source with a pen. The reason? only to take references and measurement.

DSCN6797.jpg

Second: In the lower jaw bone, I put a hole in order to allocate the tongue.

DSCN6883.jpg

Third:adding the eyebrow, basic hair, and more facial characteristics

DSCN6889.jpg

Fourth: Sculpting the neck, some wrinkles on the forehead....

DSCN7051.jpg

And fifth: The same pic, in a different view

DSCN7052.jpg

At this point i discovered an important failure : the lower jaw bone is more prominent in the character than in the figure. I repaired it after, adding more S.Sculpey. These are the pics for the moment.

In the next pics You will see me adding the basic hair and torso.

I hope u like it. Thanks a lot to all the people who are following this SBS.

Hola Alfred!

Great to see your SBS here! Was following it over at Lilliput but since my spanish is pretty much non existing I opted not to post. Great job and looking forward to the next installments!

Hey Anders, nice to read u !!!!

I'm one of ur spanish fan, still learning with Your technics, i got astonished with Your hospitallaire and watching carefully Your paratrooper.

Thanks four your words and don't worry about your spanish. There we'll translate you at lilliput. ;)

Hi all.

I'm gonna show you the next stage of my job.

1st pic: In this step, I made the support for the torso with wire. The central wire is thicker than the lateral ones, because it will later need to hold the weight of the figure. The reason of this "wire hanger" is to give the basic form as a mannequin and hold aluminium paper inside. Check it out:

DSCN7063.jpg

2nd pic: Let's sculp the torso. As you can see the lateral wires were turned for holding the aluminium paper.

DSCN7068.jpg

3rd pic: i begin to model the jacket and the shirt. The two black points inside the character's eyes were very useful to me to take many references. At this point and with those eyes the figure is a little bit like Kermitt the frog, isn't it? heheh

DSCN7178.jpg

4th picture: In the image you can see the basic form of the jacket and shirt finished (without shoulders, wrinkles, etc) and the tuft made with DURO. I ve got to say that this tuft was changed later because i thought it was so thick. You will see it in next stages.

5th picture: Uhm, this guy is so bored, lets give him a present: an elegant background

Well friends, by now its all, I'll see you soon with the next stage.

Hi Gary.

SURE , I'm making a door with a wooden sheet. Well,... it's better said, the door it's just finished and u will watch it in the next stages. I hope u don't leave the SBS.

I'm so interested on the people's opinion and specially on the opinion of great sculptors like you. Don't forget I'm just a rookie. Be benevolent. heheh.

Ah, I forgot something in my last post: Thanks to all the people who watch the SBS.

BYE, ADIOS

Alfredo, crazy Jack is looking great so far...it's been very interesting watching him get madder and crazier....looking forward to your next step.. (y)

All the best....Roy.

Hi all friends, thx for following my SBS bust.

First of all, my gratitude to ROY and GARY, for their nice words. Uhm that was my objective. As i am just learning, i wanted to get an expression of madness in the character more than a similitude with the actor because i knew the difficulty of getting the similarity, (perhaps in future portraits...)

Well, let's go to the really important thing...the pictures:

1st and 2nd pic: At first time I introduce.......THE DOOR !! well It's the door but just at the beginning of the construction. Its made with pieces of wood, and trying to do a door almost break as in the movie.

3rd pics and next: Detail photos of the bust.

DSCN7420.jpg

Thats all by now. In the next stage I'll change some things . I dont like the tuft ...it's so big, and is not in the correct position. Also the front it's so little. Let's do it again.....the next day.

THANK YOU

See you later.

Hi Garyjd,

I'm so glad you like the final result. It'll be painted but I don't know if it'll by me or by some friend. I'm a terrible painter,

Probably i'll make a mould and give some figures to some friends.

And this is all...by now.

Thanks to all the people who follow the SBS and specially to:

Garyjd , Dan Morton, Sambaman, Anders Heintz (Hey what about your paratrooper? Have you forgotten your spanish fans at lilliputmodel? ;) , Roy, Roc, and Major Goose

... for wasting their time watching the job of a newbbie.

See u soon.
